چکیده
results the prevalence’s of aa, ac and cc genotypes were 55.2%, 24.1% and 20.7% in cad patients and 51.6%, 40.9% and 7.5% in the control subjects, respectively. the frequencies of the c allele were significantly higher in cad patients compared with control groups (p < 0.05). logistic regression analysis revealed a significant association between the c allele and the risk of cad (or = 1.61, 95%ci = 1.03-2.51). conclusions our results displayed that presence of c allele at position 561 e-selection gene is associated with increased risk of atherosclerosis disease in the southeastern iranian population. this polymorphism may be able to affect leukocyte-endothelial interactions, which may account for the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. objectives the present research aimed to evaluate a561c polymorphism of the e-selectin gene in patients with coronary arterial diseases (cad). materials and methods eighty seven cad patients and 93 age- and sex-matched control subjects were enrolled in this research. the polymorphism of a561c in the e-selectin gene was defined by polymerase chain reaction followed by restriction fragment length polymorphism (pcr-rflp). background numerous factors including genetic factors play a role in pathogenesis of coronary atherosclerosis. it has been reported that polymorphisms of genes encoding adhesion molecules are associated with atherosclerosis.

Association between 45T/G Polymorphism of Adiponectin Gene and Coronary Artery Disease in an Iranian Population
A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the adiponectin gene, 45T/G, has been reported in relation to a number of metabolic disorders, including obesity, insulin resistance, and diabetes. However, previous studies on the association between this SNP and the presence of coronary artery disease (CAD) have been few, with no report from Iranian subjects. The present study set out to investigate t...
متن کاملAssociation of A561C and G98T Polymorphisms in E-Selectin Gene with Coronary Artery Disease: A Meta-Analysis
OBJECTIVE E-selectin (SELE) mediates the rolling and adhesion of leukocytes on activated endothelial cells and plays a critial role in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD). Associatons between the A561C and G98T polymorphisms of the SELE gene and CAD risk were investigated broadly, but the results were inconsistent. In the present study, we performed a meta-analysis to systematical...
متن کاملLack of Association between the MEF2A Gene and Coronary Artery Disease in Iranian Families
Objective(s): Coronary artery disease (CAD) which may lead to myocardial infarction (MI) is a complex one. Great effort has been devoted to identification of genes that increase susceptibility to CAD or provide protection. A 21-bp deletion in the MEF2A gene, which encodes a member of the myocyte enhancer factor 2 family of transcription factors, has been reported in patients of a single pedigr...

Interleukin-6 (IL6) is encoded by the IL6 gene in human and acts as pro-inflammatory cytokine and an anti-inflammatory cytokine. Recent studies established that IL6 substantially contribute in the diagnosed of systemic inflammation for the patients suffering from lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Thereof, this work aimed to investigate the prot...
متن کاملAssociation of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and MDR1 Gene Polymorphism in an Ethnic Iranian Population
Background: The frequency of the multi-drug resistance 1 (MDR1) gene C3435T polymorphism differs in various ethnical populations such as Asian, African, and Caucasians populations. A silent C3435T polymorphism in exon 26 of MDR1 has been reported to be associated with a decreased expression of P-gp in TT genotypes carriers compared with CC genotypes carriers. Materials and Methods: To evaluate ...
